Site Requirements
- Level ground within 1 inch across entire pool area
- Compacted sand or vermiculite base (2-3 inches)
- Clear area extending 3 feet beyond pool perimeter
- Access for delivery truck (pool wall comes in large roll)
- Electrical outlet within 10 feet for pump/filter (GFCI protected)
- Local permits may be required (check with city/county)
- Fence or barrier required by Minnesota state law
- Ground slope must not exceed 2% grade
Minnesota Climate
Carvin above ground pools are engineered for harsh Minnesota winters. Both 52" steel and 54" aluminum walls feature multi-layer protective coatings for freeze-thaw resistance. Winterization required: lower water level 4-6 inches below skimmer, add winterizing chemicals, install winter cover with air pillow. Spring opening typically late April to early May depending on temperatures. Pool can remain assembled year-round with proper winterization—no need to disassemble.
